Description
Titanium Carbide has NaCl crystalline structure. Because its high melting port,High hardness ,good chemical stability, mainly used for the manufacture of cermet ,hear-resistant alloy and hard alloy. Adding 6%-30% TiC into WC-Co cemented alloy ,can form a TiC-WC solid solution with WC, which can obviously improve the red-heat, wear resistance ,oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance and other properties , and is more suitable for steel processing than WC-Co cemented alloy. It can form into binary, ternary and quaternary compounds solid solution with WC,TaC,NbC,Cr3C2 and TiC, used in spraying materials, welding materials. hard thin film materials, military aviation materials. hard metals and cermet. In addition, titanium carbide can also be used for surfacing welding electrode. As the content of TiC increases in the surfacing layer, the hardness will be higher and its wear resistance will also increase. Because of its excellent conductivity, titanium carbide has been widely used in the electronic industry as the preferred electrode material.
